NTPC Limited has informed the NSE that: “A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed on 9th November 2009 at New Delhi amongst Government of Madhya Pradesh, NTPC Limited and Madhya Pradesh Power Trading Company Ltd for setting up of 4×660 MW (2640 MW total installed capacity) coal based thermal power project in Narsinghpur District Madhya Pradesh, by NTPC as a regional project of NTPC, subject to establishment of its techno-commercial viability.”
Indian power sectors investors would note that NTPC has a major power generation plant with about 3000 MW capacity located at Korba in the same region. NTPC has a total installed capacity of 30,644 MW through 26 power stations, including joint ventures. The company currently has projects for 17,930 MW in capacity under construction.
